Lab Grown Diamonds

The purest peak reached by science and technology in a laboratory environment.

WHAT IS IT?

What is a Lab-Grown Diamond?

A lab-grown diamond is a real diamond that shares the exact chemical, optical, and physical properties as mined diamonds. They consist of 100% crystallized carbon. The only difference is that mined diamonds form under the earth over millions of years, while lab diamonds are grown in weeks using state-of-the-art technology under controlled conditions.

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and major gemological institutions (GIA, IGI) legally classify lab-grown diamonds as 100% real diamonds. Telling them apart with the naked eye or traditional diamond testers is impossible.

GROWING TECHNOLOGY

CVD vs HPHT Methods

CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition)

Chemical Vapor Deposition starts by placing a thin diamond seed inside a vacuum chamber. Carbon-rich gases, like methane, are introduced. Microwave energy ionizes the gas into plasma, causing carbon atoms to precipitate onto the seed, atom by atom. CVD is the premium method used to grow the highest purity (Type IIa) and large diamond crystals.

HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature)

High Pressure High Temperature mimics the natural formation conditions deep within the earth. A diamond seed is subjected to 60,000 atmospheres of pressure and temperatures around 1500°C. The carbon source dissolves and crystallizes on the seed. HPHT is often used for smaller stones or color enhancement processes.
